Contraindicated during pregnancy due to the stress they place on the kidneys.

- Buchu
Should be avoided until the last 4 to 6 weeks of pregnancy.
- Squaw Vine (Mitchella repens)
- Blue Cohosh (Caulophyflum thalicotroides)
- Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa)
Too strong for pregnancy
- Pennyroyal
- False Unicorn Root (Helonias dioica)
- Dong Quai (Angelica spp)
Because it can lower prolactin levels, is best discontinued during the last trimester of pregnancy
